MI Developments Inc. (MID) has significant international experience in real estate acquisition, development and management. Our sizeable land bank, sustainable income stream and strong balance sheet provide us with the flexibility and capability to be an ideal development partner.
MID had approximately 1,400 acres of land held for development at the end of 2008, including approximately 900 acres in the U.S., 300 acres in Canada, 100 acres in Mexico and 100 acres in Europe. These properties consist of:
- lands held for future industrial expansion,
- lands that were originally banked for industrial use but for which the current industrial use is not the highest and best use, and
- development lands
- 34 acre parcel in Aurora, Ontario
- 64 acre parcel in Howard County, Maryland
- 157 acre parcel in Palm Beach County, Florida
- 205 acre parcel of land located in Bonsall, California
MID currently intends to develop the Aurora, Palm Beach County and Bonsall properties for residential and commercial uses and the Howard County property for mixed-use, including office, retail and residential. Approvals are well-advanced for a 288 unit residential development in Palm Beach County, Florida. Significant progress has also been made in the mixed use rezoning of the Howard County lands in Maryland and MID intends to request preliminary site plan approval before the end of 2009. The San Diego County general plan covering the Bonsall lands is expected to accommodate MID's residential development plans for that property.
For companies seeking to expand operations, we are a single source for all of your real estate acquisition and development requirements. While clients are initially drawn by MID's experience and reputation for quality, it is our speed and responsiveness, our accommodation of client needs, and our transparent way of doing business that turns projects into enduring relationships.
